PointPoker Chrome Extension — Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 16, 2026
What the extension does
The PointPoker Chrome Extension lets you add Jira stories to your PointPoker planning poker room queue directly from Jira. It detects Jira ticket information from your open browser tabs and sends it to your PointPoker room for estimation.
Data we collect
- Jira page URLs and titles — read from your open Jira tabs to extract ticket keys and story titles. This data is sent to the PointPoker server only when you explicitly click "Add to Queue".
- Room session data — your PointPoker room ID, API token, and room code are stored in Chrome's session storage and automatically cleared when you close your browser.
Data we do NOT collect
- No personal information (name, email, etc.)
- No browsing history beyond active Jira tabs
- No analytics or tracking
- No data is sold or shared with third parties
Permissions used
- activeTab — reads the current tab's URL and title to detect Jira tickets when you click the extension icon.
- tabs — queries open Jira tabs for the multi-tab bulk add feature.
- storage — stores your active room session in Chrome's session storage. Cleared on browser close.
- Host permissions — connects to Jira (*.atlassian.net) to detect tickets, and to the PointPoker API to create rooms and add stories.
Data retention
Room session data is stored in Chrome's session storage and is automatically deleted when the browser is closed. No data is persisted long-term by the extension.
